Yes, a valid Indian visa is required to visit the Andaman Islands, as they are a part of the Andaman and Nicobar Islands Union Territory of India. International travelers need to obtain an Indian visa before their trip.

The Andaman Islands offer a variety of attractions. Some popular ones include Radhanagar Beach (ranked as one of Asia's best beaches), Cellular Jail National Memorial, Havelock Island, Neil Island, Ross Island, Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Park, and Baratang Island with its limestone caves.
